Back Packs for Kids

Community Hope is home to Back Packs for Kids which receives donations from area churches, businesses and individuals who recognize the need to supplement food supplies for people in our community. Volunteer teams pack and distribute the food packs on a weekly basis for students who attend Lake City Schools. It’s a partnership that provides relief to children and their families and which school staff say brings “ear-to-ear smiles” to children’s faces. Monday morning goes better when you have a full stomach Sunday night.

Weekly List of Food Items Needed

• Granola Bars

• Single serve cereal

• Instant oatmeal packets

• Soup

• Mac & Cheese cups

• Ramen noodles

• Canned Meat/Pasta

• Single serve applesauce

• Fruit snacks

• Single serve cracker packets

• Popcorn (for microwave)

• Tuna fish

• Flavored potato/rice pouches

  If you would like to donate, items can be dropped off at the Lake City Christian Reformed Church located at 1657 S. Morey Rd., Lake City, MI 49651
